Jumping Castle Hire in Sydney's Inner West

Inner West Sydney at a glance...

Sydney’s Inner West is an eclectic melting pot, from the harbour views and beautiful historic buildings of Balmain, to the gritty creative hub of Newtown.

Inner West Sydney also has some of the best food from around the world, from pizza and pasta in Leichhardt, the Italian heart of Sydney, to authentic Chinese flavours in Campsie to the best Portuguese tarts in Petersham. Marrickville and Orange Grove markets are famous for their organic goodies.

The area is bursting with killer cafes, too. Check out Dulwich Hill and neighbouring Summer Hill for a top-notch brekky!

Inner West kids party venues and parks

The Inner West is known as being a family-friendly part of Sydney, and it’s easy to see why.

There are some great parks and kids party venues in the Inner West, and many of them have a cafe nearby, which is a big bonus for coffee-loving Inner Westies.

Some recommendations include;

The B Space in Rozelle which boasts beautiful wooden floorboards with an all-white interior - making it the perfect backdrop to create your own magical party space! BONUS - we know our Candy Wonderland, Balloon Bounce and Rainbow Tower fit perfectly!

Petersham Park, which has the added bonus of the Fanny Durack Aquatic Centre in the grounds for a post-party cool-down as well as a rotunda for shelter.

Steel Park (currently closed for renovations) in Marrickville with a waterplay area that little kids love, and a flying fox for the bigger kids.

Enmore Park has lots of space, and boasts the party-ready Annette Kellerman Aquatic Centre within its grounds, and BBQ facilities too, for a budget-friendly feast!

Camperdown Park has a rotunda, an oval, function space in the park, exercise equipment and a playground too. There’s a pizza place just down the street too, in case pizza in the park sounds good to you.

Whites Creek Valley Park in Annandale features wetlands and a community garden, playground, plus a skate ramp.

Annandale Community Centre is a gorgeous little spot with a playground, spacious hall and kitchenette!

A little bit further out, there are plenty of perfect party parks, such as Blaxland Riverside Park, which is truly mega, at over three hectares, and features state-of-the-art equipment like climbing walls, tunnels, tree house and bike track. Strathfield Park is another great park for parties, with a scooter track and thrilling twisty slides, it’s got all ages covered!

For a cool indoor-outdoor party space, bowling clubs are a fun option with a community feel and cater for the whole family, with lots of outdoor space for the kids, sometimes with live music and don't forget the craft beers for the adults!

Our faves Inner West Bowling Clubs are:

Leichardt Bowling Club

Balmain Bowling Club

Petersham Bowling Club

Ashfield Bowling Club

Feeling overwhelmed? The Inner West council is a great place to start your search. Check out their website for details on local parks, playgrounds, halls and community centres for hire.

A party at home can be perfect for a younger audience. It’s nice and safe in case you have little escape artists and younger boys and girls love coming together for a story, or singing and dancing and games.

A park is the perfect birthday party venue if you have a larger group, or a group with younger and older kids.

Halls and community centres and pubs and clubs vary in terms of space and facilities and access.

I’ve found my ideal Inner West birthday party venue! Now what?

Once you have found the right place for your party, make sure you get the exact name of the park you have in mind. If you're hiring one of our jumping castles, you'll also need to make a booking with council - they'll need our public liability certificate so make sure you get in touch!

If a council venue, you’ll find the venue facilities, map and booking information on your council website. Take photos of the area of the park you have in mind too. It will come in handy for discussing plans with your kids party entertainer, caterers and directing your guests too!

Things to consider if having a birthday party in a park;

  • Are there toilets?
  • Is there power?
  • Is it an off-leash area for dogs – some younger party guests might be scared
  • Is is safe? Check for things like appropriate fencing, water access and holes
  • Is there shelter in case it rains on the day? (see our FAQ’s or Wet Weather Policy for info on this one!)
  • Is it accessible for all your guests?
  • Is there anything you need to let guests, party entertainers or caterers know about, in terms of parking and/or setup issues?

If you’re thinking of a private venue, give them a call as soon as you have a rough idea regarding the number of people you plan to invite. They’ll be able to give you a better idea regarding the cost of any catering and what kind of party entertainment can be accommodated in their function spaces.

We service all areas of the Inner West! Take a peek at our jumping castles and let us know how we can help :)
